If you remember the snack mix Doo Dads then you probably know ChexMix is no replacement. Doo Dads was discontinued by Nabisco several years ago and until recently there was no replacement.
Well over the holidays I stumbled on something new from Nabisco. They’re called Mixers and they come in Traditional and some Cheese thing. Stay away from the cheese and buy the Traditional, it has a spicy taste just like Doo Dads.
Buy some salted peanuts and dump them in the bag. You’ll have to eat around the Ritz crackers though.

I want Doo Dads Back so bad, and i know alot of other ppl that would love to have them back too. Its not fare why do they always have to discontinue stuff ppl really enjoy. well maybe they will come back out usually they bring stuff back after years so it will sell like crazy again because ppl get tired of the same stuff so they take it off the shelf for a long time and then bring it back. HOPEFULLY.

I was eating some home made snack mix tody, thought about those good ole, DooDads and BAM! found this info. My college roomie was addicted and had me wanting them too! I’ll have to try these (not the cheese)
omg i probably haven’t had doo dads since i was in late elementary or early middle school, but i distinctly remember them being amazing. i’m simply distraught to learn that they’ve been discontinued. i’ll keep my eye out for these mixer things. an unrelated snack you should try, is cheez-its with an added dab of honey in the center. it slows down the consumption process, but they’re super-addictive.

Once while walking through a supermarket on the snack aisle I encountered a box of doodads upside down on the shelf. As you will remember, the brand name “doodads” was spelled in lower case letters. You can imagine my surprise at seeing a product on the shelf named “spapoop.”
Its a shame such a fine snack went away. i remember they started around $1.00 a box when they came out, and by the time of their demise they were around the $2.75 mark. my mother refused to pay over $1.99 a box for them, so you can all blame me for the product deletion (or them for being greedy) i fondly remember eating all the brown chex 1st, then the white chex, followed by the TidBits and pretzels, the peanuts were thrown away. ahhh the mememories ………
Doodads were absolutely the best snack ever!!!! Everytime my family went on vacation, I would have to get doodads to take on the trip. Please bring them back!!!! No snack mix has ever been able to live up to the taste of the doodads.

I have been looking for doo dads for about a year now. I am so sad to hear that they discontinued them. What makes these people think that Canada is the only place that should have a tasty treat? We ARE AMERICA and Kraft should take care of the people who take care of them. We should all get together and boycott all of their products until they bring back the doo dad!!!! But i sure would miss their salad dressing, so maybe we should just write them and gripe instead!!!!! lol

I searched the internet 5 years ago for information on DooDads and found nothing. I emailed Nabisco then. Now I have found all these posts of people also wanting doodads. I have thought about doodads on average once or twice a week for the last 5 years. Well, perhaps longer, because I thought about them when they were still available as well. The last time I ate DooDads was with my ex-girlfriend of three + years past. I have a picture of her nude with the box of DooDads covering her face which makes me feel sort of mixed up because otherwise I relate the DooDads to my great aunt Mable who brought them to me every time time she baby sat me and my siblings. I broke up with my girlfriend when Nabisco stopped selling DooDads. I didn’t have the same feelings for her suddenly. My life is sh*t without DooDads.
I’m a little bit confused about this Canada thing that people keep mentioning. Are there DooDads in Canada? If so, I am moving there.
The Mixers suggestion is crap too. I ate them and thought the same thing, but it was absolute hell to try and seperate all that junk

I loved DooDads too, they were the most amazing snack. Outside of making your own there really is not replacement. I do like the Ritz mix, I think that it is closest to Doo Dads that you can buy. If you buy Chex mix they usually have a snack mix recipe written on the box, it really is most like Doo Dads that I have found. If only Nabisco would read this and bring back Doo Dads.

My daughter just got married and one of the things I wanted to do was find a recipe even close to DooDads as a wedding present. Yes she loved them that much. But I couldn’t get the exact taste.
My whole family LOVED DooDads! I used to take a box and mix them with a bag of Gardettos, throw in extra peanuts and presto…that whole bowl full would vanish in nothing flat. Bring back the DooDads Nabisco!
I have dreams about Doo Dads…happy, beautiful dreams that I never want to wake up from! My very last box was stolen by my roommate at the time and she thought they could replaced….SHE WAS WRONG! me too, i miss doodads. taking away a good product, what’s wrong with nabisco, i’m sure there’s other products they sell that aren’t even as popular as doodads were. come on get it together nabisco.
I with all of you. I’ve loved snack mixes since I was a kid and nothing compares with Doo Dads. I couldn’t find them for years and found a box in a gas station around 2000. I went back later and they never had them there again. We should start a grass-roots campaign to get Nabisco to make them again! It’s strange, the other food that I miss nostagically from even farther back is Space Sticks (especially the peanut butter). That’s another interesting one to research.
I MISS doodads!! I have recently tried Chex Mix Bold Party flavor. It is close but still isn’t my childhood treat. I have family in Canada. I am going to see if they can find it there.
Spapoop! I looked online a few years ago only to find they were in a limited market. Now they are gone entirely. I have tried eating the cheez-its snack mix and it just made me crave doodads even more. If they can make it in Canada, they can make it here. Doodads forever!
I was doing another desparate search for DooDads and came acrossed these postings. I have been looking for these things for 5 years. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one out here. None of the other stuff compares. What is wrong with Nabisco? Aren’t they owned by Kraft now? Let’s give them a call.

I live in Canada now and am from upstate NY and LOVED doodads. There is NOTHING like them here. Don’t know where that rumor came from. They have something similar but they do not taste at all like doodads.

Suggestion:
Somebody with the right means and wherewithal could buy doodads.org/.com/.net or whatever, and start a petition-like site right on the home page. Nabisco, Kraft, or whoever owns the rights to the snack could be notified of the great demand for such a magnificent snack and be directed to the site and its owner(s). I know mostly nothing of site-building, online petitions, or corporate governance, but I’ll be damned if DOO DADS weren’t a great snack. The site would take off, I just know it.

Doo-Dads were the greatest snack eer. As someone else said, once you open a box it is gone in one sitting.Chex Mix doesn’t even come close. Forget the Ritz and twisty pretzels. We need pretzle sticks, peanuts, and those great original spices!
I miss doo dads so much. I search the internet for information about them from time to time. I always used to eat doo dads growing up along with citrus punch at my grandparents’ house. Good times.

I have searched for WEEKS to find Ritz Snack Mix in the 8 oz bags or even the Nabisco Mixers in the blus resealable bags. Those are the two closest things to Doo Dads I have been able to find. If Doo Dads are revived – I swear I will buy 2 TRUCKLOADS to avoid having to search for this crap DAY after DAY! OMG!
Doo Dads RULE!!! there has never been another savory snack that has come close to them. Can someone tell me why Nabisco still makes “chicken in a bisquit” and stopped making the King of all snacks?? Great site to assuage the void in my heart from the absence of delicious doodad snack mix. The doodads sites exist, but are the property of some people that buy and hold web address names. Shame. I agree with TheDingoo8yourBaby that sometimes, extreme measures must be taken to get your doodads. Long live doodads. I guess I’ll pack my bags for Canada. Sigh.

I can’t understand how Nabisco assumes such a thing. I recall going to the grocery store often, purposely to get a box of those snacks. My Favorite were the Zesty Cheese. I would often find the shelve empty. So I know there were many in my area that consumed the product.
Perhaps they were miss informed, nevertheless, They should bring DooDads back, and monitor to see the response..Of hell..Make me a box of Zesty Cheese, I will pay whatever for them..

I occasionally do a search for these, as I remember eating them at my grandparents’ house growing up. Definitely my favorite snack of all time. Nabisco needs to wise up, and re-market them. And the comment about Chicken in a Biscuit still being around is right on. Same with “Social Tea Biscuits”

I have been thinking about doodads for days. DAYS! we bought some cheez-it party mix and its not the same… the spice, the peanuts! I could not remember what else was in there until reading this. If only we had the recipe. Thanks to all the other DooDads lovers out there. It amazes me that people are still posting to this thread after it was started in Jan. 2007.
I would love to see Nabisco bring Doo Dads back…I even forwarded this link to them to let them know people are still craving them! LOL I suggested they try new packaging such as a resealable bag. This way they could be placed in the chips isle where they belong, not with crackers (where I used to find them). Everyone who reads these comments should contact Nabisco and request they bring them back!

I called Nabisco/Kraft’s 800 number to look for the Mixers suggested at the top & the guy looked them up to see where I could buy them. No luck. BUT!, I also asked him about doo dads & he said that he would put in a request for them to be brought back again. He also said that sometimes if they get enough calls about a discontinued product, they will bring it back!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! I liked Doo Dads because if you turned the box over, it became Spap Oop. We always opened the box from the bottom on purpose.

I am shocked to see there are so many other people out there in Doodad withdrawal! I lived outside the U.S. for about 8 years, came back, and couldn’t find them anywhere. I didn’t realize they had stopped making them! I’m with all of you faithful “dads” supporters; we need to get our snacks back!!!

I can make a pretty close doodad snack, but cheez-its are not close enough to the tidbits.

I found a box of doo dads at a backwater gas station once, they were stale…. I ate them anyway, I am ashamed of myself but equally ticked at Nabisco.

Doo Dads exists! I recently took a flight to Vancouver on WestJet. The flight attendent asked me if I’d like cookies or “Bits & Bites”. I opted for the latter and was presently surprised when I saw that they were Doo Dads (minus the peanuts, plus a little Cheerio looking thing) Tastes just like Doo Dads. Closest I’ve found is taking a bag of chex bold party blend and adding peanuts & goldfish crackers. It’s not the same but it’s not shabby. Wish they’d bring back the original!
I’ve ordered the Bits & Bites from canada (Kraft) and they are they are very similar. Better than Chex bold party blend for sure.
