My Comcast cable internet seems to be running at about 6 megabits now. I swear it was around 3 megabits before. Must be to compete with Verizon FIOS. How about bumping my upload rate now Comcast? Then I’d have a reason to cancel my DSL.

My Comcast is really fast. The Comcast guy even said it was faster than usual. Now if only my computer would work.
My Comcast is still slow as hell…of course, we don’t have access to FiOS yet either. I guess competition works wonders for consumers.
Competition does work wonders, especially when it comes to how much we pay for our service, which is why Cable companies are persuading municipalities to preserve their monopolies in the face of offerings such as FiOS. Jerseygirl, (assuming you are from Jersey) this is why FiOS has yet to be introduced in NJ (where Verizon is headquartered, no less). If we want faster and better service, we ought to demand it form our city leadership.
