I have cingular cell phone service and use a popular server/network monitoring software called nagios.
I’ve dug up (by no help from cingular) that you can email your phone a message by prepending your phone number to @mobile.mycingular.com. The problem is large messages (at least on my phone) will get split into multiple emails to the phone.
Now I’ve just realized that writing mail to (# prepended) @cingularme.com appears to not break apart the message. Also, don’t sue me on this but I think you won’t be charged for text messages if you use this host.
Interesting. I’m lucky if my phone works in the living room.
thanks for the info. I’ve got my phone chirpping like sea world… cuz I set my ‘new text message’ to alert as a dolphin :D
Love
I thought you were gonna actully ride the spark drive ‘with the trucks on it’ not just mount it :)
The mobile.mycingular.com stil works, but mycingular.com doesn’t anymore as of 9/8/2005.
Kind Regards,
Peter Mueller
