happy christmas

hope you all are having a happy christmas. there are some new pictures of sophia in the gallery here. will put up pictures after christmas this weekend. she’s about 14 lbs now.

this is only the beginning

well, she’s smiling more than ever and starting to giggle and laugh it seems. she is now about 13 lbs and 25 inches long. doctor told us that she is in 95th percentile for weight, off the chart for height, and 50 percentile for head size. what an amazing girl.

we’ve been working on birth announcements for almost 3 weeks now, my goal is to have them out before christmas but i think charlotte may want them out sooner. =)

there are a few more pictures in the gallery from thanksgiving, don’t forget to take a look.

recovery

I am feeling much better now, here’s the story.

I was longboarding on my supaflex near my sister’s home which is out in some hilly country outside of portland. I was skating with my brother in law down one of these hills when I started experiencing some speed wobble (board shutters back and forth). I hadn’t experienced this on my longboard before but according to my Brian we were probabling clocking 40mph.

Now at this point looking back I realize I should have dropped to my butt on the board and put my feet on the road, but– there was not enough time for quick thinking during the moment. I attempted to brake with one foot on the road while standing; but of course the board was still wobbling. Then I just remember taking my first step off the board to try and run.

I faded in and out for a while but really didn’t become fully aware until we were in the ER waiting area (with our newborn, during flu season). Doctors performed a CAT scan and found some air bubbles inside my head but no bleeding. They say I had/still have a small fracture that let the air in but that it should be absorbed (by brain?). So, doctor ordered to not cough, sneeze or vomit and I was successful with this. The headache is now gone, some 5 or 6 days later and I am rarely getting dizzy now.

That’s the story. I’ve been told that I walked back and kept rediscovering my broken tooth and saying “I think I fell!”. Now it’s time to get these teeth fixed!
